Sharon Gaskin 

My name is Sharon Gaskin and I’m the Founder of The Trainers Training Company, the premier resource to help freelance trainers create successful and profitable training businesses.

Prior to founding The Trainers Training Company I ran my own training business for 10 years and know exactly what it’s like to experience the roller coaster life as a freelance trainer. Apart from the obvious challenge of attracting and securing work, I found personally that one of the biggest problems I faced was how to motivate myself when I was having a bad day or feeling uncertain about a decision.

When you are freelance you are on your own. Yes, there are plenty of networking events you can go to but generally they are full of people from a variety of businesses, they can sometimes be intimidating and you may also sometimes feel an obligation to say everything is wonderful when it’s not!

One of my passions is bringing freelance trainers together to learn, share and connect. Creating a sense of community is a key mission of The Trainers Training Company.

So often I hear freelance trainers say that ‘Freelance Training is a very lonely business … Well it needn’t be! Come along to Trainer Talk Live and you will get:

The words sales and marketing are intrinsically linked.  Quite simply, one can’t live without the other.  In most cases, this also involves two departments (and possibly an agency) working together to win sales that were kick started by a marketing campaign.

Nick Horton does this stuff without departments and agencies and helps his clients win multi-million pound contracts.

He is best known for using a Rubix Cube to spearhead a marketing campaign that led to his client landing the largest prospect in their industry.  It became a multi million pound deal that he led from the marketing concept to the first order being placed.

Nick hasn’t been to the University of Sales and Marketing, he has learnt by spending 20 years on the corporate battlefield.

Karen CuretonI have a strong sales and marketing background with over twenty-five years both in retail and business. My corporate career peaked with a role as a Sales Director for a national Housebuilder. However, being a Sales Director didn’t fit with being a mum so left corporate world in 2008 to set up my Sales and Social Media Consultancy based near East Midlands Airport. In September 2018 I was proud to be awarded “Outstanding Woman in Professional Services” at the East Midlands Women’s awards – this was in addition to being shortlisted in the Rural Business Awards

The business now has two specific arms which cover sales and social media, within that specifically:
